Could a version of the Laszlo SoundBlox, a lightweight Flash-based MP3 player, serve as a universal tool for defining and exporting the audio selections that will drive an ecosystem of media clips? It seems like a doable and worthwhile exercise. I’d love to see the nascent OurMedia project move in this direction.
Very interesting, that, I reckon. We use RealMedia audio files here, but this could be a fascinating way of providing a “menu” of all our audio files in MP3 format inside a player which is inside the browser. It might not make authoring the files any easier, but it would make displaying them a whole lot more interesting.
