What I’ve read and am reading for pleasure. Notes are for my own benefit. Only finished and current books shown:
Into the Fire: Manda Scott
Manda’s thrilling tale of the Jeanne d’Arc (or is it?). Currently reading
Eating Vietnam: Graham Holliday
The adventures of a astronaut in Vietnam. Ace so far. Currently reading
Metamorphosis: Franz Kafka
One of those books I couldn’t remember if I’d read or not, so familiar is the story. If I had read it, I’d forgotten how wonderful it was. And awful. And sad. And funny. June 2015
The Year of Reading Dangerously: Andy Miller
A lovely book, full of charm and intelligence and honesty. Though I felt slightly robbed at not hearing Miller’s thoughts on Portrait of a Lady (my favourite novel). June 2015
The Face on the Cutting Room Floor: Cameron McCabe
Recommended by Shane Richmond, and an extraordinary thing – a book within a book within a book. Written as Cameron McCabe by this guy, who sounds the most fascinating man I’ve never never. June 2015
The Ballad of Peckham Rye: Muriel Spark
My first Muriel Spark, and a mesmerising book, barely 150 pages long and almost a play. June 2015
Joker: Brian Azzarello, Lee Bermejo
Looks beautiful, interesting take on Joker, narrated by a henchman. June 2015
