This is a blog about, for want of a better description, my “professional life”. It’s about web sites. It’s about digital media. It’s about delivering news digitally. It’s about managing technical resources and working with other teams. If that bores you, it’s also about communities, blogs, social software, search, design, interfaces, usability, accessibility, and generally just putting things in places where people with digital devices can get to them.
It’s very much NOT the official view of the world according to Guardian Unlimited, the Guardian, the Observer or Guardian Newspapers Ltd. I’ve not sought any “permission” to do this blog, nor would I expect to. But in return for not seeking permission, I’m also assuming that the company I work for wouldn’t appreciate me washing its dirty linen (such as it is) in the blogosphere. So I won’t do that. I won’t give major insight into day-to-day strategy. I will, where I can, explain how we arrived at something we’ve done and why. But that’ll be practical, not strategic.
So if you’re looking for gossip combined with hardcore strategy, don’t look here. I ain’t getting fired for this.
